Mahogany Triple lid Tea Caddy c.1790 SOLD
A prime example of an immaculate triple lid tea caddy in complete original condition. It’s made from mahogany with boxwood bounding which follows the edging around the box. The inlaid panels are made from boxwood and sycamore wood. It comprises of two oval inlays will a decorative floral pattern. The interior follows the theme with mahogany lids also made from boxwood. It has three lids which is rather unusual making this example quite unique.
It dates to the Georgian period and comes with a fully functioning lock and key.
