Georgian Mahogany Oval Tea Caddy 1790 SOLD

A simply beautiful oval tea caddy primarily made from mahogany.  It’s in a suburb condition through out including the interior.  It’s inlaid and banded in a variety of woods including rope twist boxwood banding, tulipwood and ebony.  The front floral inlay in made from boxwood and sycamore wood.  It has a large boxwood fan inlay to the centre lid which stretches across the entire lid.  A real stunning collectors example.  The interior comprises of a mahogany lid.  A Georgian example dating to c.1790 and comes with a fully functioning lock and key.
