Collectors Tunbridge Ware Lap Desk 1870

A stunning collectors tunbridge ware lap desk in a completely original and great condition through out.  Made from rosewood and tunbridge ware including a beautiful inlaid picture of Heaver Castle with floral decoration.  The inside continues its quality with two inlaid ink wells and areas of inlaid tunbridge ware inside.  It also has it’s original writing area velvet and come with a fully functioning lock and key.  This particular example dates to the Victorian 1870.   

This particular Tunbridge ware lap desk appeared on tv with a famous antique dealer Arthur  Negus of its day during the late 1960’s.  It also appeared as a written article which is displayed and stored inside the box.  A nice bit of history.
