A fine early 19th century Regency period mahogany tea caddy, dating to circa 1820. Of rectangular form, the box is boxwood bound and fitted with elegant brass side handles, raised on four brass bun feet for a refined presentation.
The front is adorned with an ornate brass escutcheon, though no key is present. The hinged lid opens to reveal a clean interior comprising two lidded divisions, once used for storing precious tea leaves during the Georgian and Regency era.
