Stunning Satinwood Oval Tea Caddy c.1790 SOLD
A beautiful example of a large sized double lid tea caddy made from a golden satinwood. It’s in a oval shape with a typical decorative inlay through out consisting of floral marquetry. The floral marquetry is inlaid by boxwood and sycamore wood. The caddy is in a lovely original condition which hasn’t been overly restored and left with a nice level of patina. The interior comprises of two satinwood inlaid original lids. This example dates to Georgian 1790 and comes with a fully functioning lock and key.
